The Humane Society is hoping to increase donations to allow for the expansion
of spay and neuter services.

With the growth of the community has come an explosion in the homeles
point by the need to offer more subsidized spay and neuter
operations for the pets of low income families.

The board of directors has agreed to spend $1,000. USD a month on this service. This is double the amount that has been spent in the past. Spay and neuter operations are available only to low-income families for $15 USD.

 

There is a serious need to prevent as many unwanted litters as possible. Only families with a very low income qualify for this program.

In the past some of these families have chosen to abandon their pregnant female dogs because they could not find homes for litter after litter of puppies.

The unwanted puppies most often ended up as strays on the streets of Cabo producing their own unlimited number of starving offspring.

Many families are waiting to take advantage of the subsidized spay program. To the Society, population control is top priority.
